According to reports, the globally recognized innovation and technology exhibition VivaTech showcased many startups eager to display their latest technologies, with significant interest expressed in collaborating with Taiwanese companies.

Since launching the La French Tech initiative in 2013, France has combined efforts from both the government and private sectors to create a thriving startup ecosystem, fostering over 25,000 startups and generating 1.1 million jobs in the past decade.

Maud Vinet, CEO of the French startup Quobly, stated, “We use silicon chips that provide quantum bits with high speed and quality, addressing current challenges in cost, volume, and performance of quantum computer prototypes.” This company aims to develop industrial-viable quantum computing solutions and has previously visited Taiwan for collaboration.

Vinet emphasized, “I greatly admire Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem and expertise. We seek knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing and integrated circuit design from Taiwan.” The allure of Taiwan's advanced semiconductor technology has drawn the attention of French startups, even those established less than a year ago, such as Lumisync, whose CEO Alexis Jonville elaborated on their patented 100% photonic oscillator, which synchronizes information across network components, operating a thousand times faster and more energy-efficient than existing electronic oscillators.

They aim to enhance data transmission efficiency and reduce energy consumption through this innovation, actively seeking collaboration with Taiwanese companies such as Powerchip Semiconductor and the Industrial Technology Research Institute to further their business presence in Taiwan. Jonville remarked, “As a small startup, we currently produce a limited number of units each month, but we recognize that to scale up and achieve mass production in the future, Taiwan is an indispensable player.” As French startups continue to grow, Taiwan emerges as a key partner, particularly in semiconductor processes and scientific research.
