In today's (5th) Jones Cup women's basketball match, the Chinese women's basketball team faced off against South Korea, ultimately losing 92:62. South Korea led 44:24 at halftime, with a total of 17 three-pointers and a shooting percentage of 55.4%. Huang Lingjuan admitted post-match, “We have ongoing communication problems in our defense.”
Head coach Michael Olson indicated that South Korea's shooting percentage was excellent, whereas the Chinese team struggled with their own. He noted that players appeared fatigued and plans to intensify their training to address defensive issues. Huang Lingjuan remarked, “Compared to other teams, our defense is noticeably passive, and communication has always been an issue. We need to focus on defensive positions and communication, and we can only improve through practice to simulate game situations.”
