Yunlin County has achieved another success in agriculture as Yunlin Rice, promoted by Tung Yuan Grain Industry and Taiwan Superior Rice, successfully penetrates the European market, exporting to France, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Switzerland. County Mayor Chang Li-shan announced this milestone during a press conference at the Tung Yuan Rice Mill, noting the significance of this achievement for Taiwanese agricultural exports.

The main product for this export is the "Snow Crane Sushi Rice" packaged in 10 kilograms, with plans to ship 50 containers, totaling around 1,200 tons. The rice has passed over 100 rigorous EU food inspections and certifications, showcasing the strength and quality of Yunlin's agriculture. Mayor Chang expressed gratitude to all partners involved, including Chairman Lee Yuan-hao and contracted farmers, for their commitment to high-quality standards that made this international success possible.

Lee Yuan-hao indicated that the rice exported primarily comes from the Erlun and Lunbei areas, thanking the contracted farmers for their strict quality control that allows the rice to meet European standards. He also announced the launch of the "Taiwan Superior Rice" promotion plan to enhance the brand recognition of Taiwanese rice in domestic and international markets. Agricultural Department Director Wei Sheng-de remarked that this successful foray into Europe enhances the international competitiveness of Taiwanese rice and serves as a case study for other agricultural exports.
