Man Dies After Entering Milan's Bergamo Airport and Being Inhaled by Aircraft Engine

A tragic incident occurred at Italy's Milan Bergamo Airport on July 8, where a man entered the runway and was inhaled by the engine of an aircraft preparing for takeoff, resulting in his death.
According to Italian media, the incident took place around 10:20 AM local time on Tuesday. The man entered the runway through a security gate from the baggage claim area. Despite efforts by airport police to chase him, he ran directly towards an Airbus A319, which was about to take off, and was sucked into its running engine.
This incident led to the airport halting operations for about two hours, causing the cancellation or diversion of over a dozen flights. While the cause of the incident has not yet been officially announced, local media speculate it might have been a suicide. The deceased was not a passenger or airport staff member.
Authorities found a vehicle in the airport parking lot in front of the arrival hall, which may have been driven by the deceased man. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police are providing psychological support to passengers on the affected flight.
