French President Emmanuel Macron is facing concerns beyond tariff issues, including a significant domestic strike. During the peak summer travel season, the French air traffic controllers' union began a two-day strike yesterday (3rd), resulting in the cancellation of over 1500 flights across the country.

At Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport, many flights are either delayed or listed as canceled. The air traffic controllers' union has expressed dissatisfaction over long-standing staff shortages and outdated equipment, severely disrupting travelers' plans during the busy summer travel period. French traveler Julien Barthelemy commented, "I came here to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday, and now I'm stuck at Charles de Gaulle Airport, currently on standby for three flights."

Canadian traveler Carol Jelic remarked, "What should have taken me a day and a half to travel is now taking over two days." Europe’s largest low-cost airline, Ryanair, has been forced to cancel over 450 flights, with its CEO urging the EU to take swift action to reform the air traffic control system. Another popular low-cost carrier, easyJet, has also canceled more than 270 flights.

According to estimates from the European Airlines Association, the strike will see approximately 1500 flights grounded over these two days, affecting nearly 300,000 travelers, although it primarily impacts short-haul and intra-European routes, with long-haul flights largely unaffected.
