The third game saw her make several errors, leading to a 9-11 loss. However, in the crucial fourth game, she regained control, and after being tied at 2-2, she scored six points in a row to secure the win at 11-5, thus progressing to the Round of 16.

On the other hand, fellow competitor Gao Cheng-Rui fell short against former world champion Wang Chuqin, losing 1-3 and failing to advance to the men's singles Round of 16. After ending his singles run, he is set to pair with Lin Yun-Ju in doubles, facing the 'Argentinian duo' of Lorenzo and Schwindt in the next round.

Additionally, Cheng I-Ching and Lin Yun-Ju's mixed doubles team automatically advanced to the Round of 8 after the withdrawal of the 7th ranked Swedish pair, Karsson and Kalber, due to injury. They will next challenge the Japanese team of Matsushima Teruku and Zhang Bensong.
